Carbon Capture and Sequestration: Research, Development, and Demonstration at the U.S. Department of Energy
This report aims to provide a snapshot of the DOE CCS program, including its current funding\r levels and the budget request for FY2014, together with some discussion of the program\'s\r achievements and prospects for success in meeting its stated goals. Other CRS reports provide\r substantial detail on the technological aspects of CCS (CRS Report R41325, Carbon Capture: A\r Technology Assessment) and information on various challenges to CCS deployment (CRS Report RL34621, Capturing CO2 from Coal-Fired Power Plants: Challenges for a Comprehensive\r Strategy, and CRS Report RL34601, Community Acceptance of Carbon Capture and\r Sequestration Infrastructure: Siting Challenges). In addition, one report focuses solely on the\r FutureGen project (CRS Report R43028, FutureGen: A Brief History and Issues for Congress).
