The Iran-Libya Sanctions Act (ILSA)

In August 2001, the Iran-Libya Sanctions Act (ILSA) was renewed for five years (P.L. 107-24). No firms have been sanctioned under ILSA, and it has terminated with respect to Libya. It is scheduled to expire in August 2006. In the 109th Congress, H.R. 282 and S. 333 would extend and modify it, including imposing a time limit for the Administration to determine whether an investment violates ILSA.
