The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP): Program and Funding
The first section of this report describes funding for LIHEAP in FY2013 and FY2012. The second section of this report discusses LIHEAP rules, including household eligibility and how funds may be used, and presents the most recent data available from HHS regarding household characteristics and benefit levels. The third section discusses how each category of LIHEAP funds is distributed to states, as well as a breakdown of funds to the states during the last several fiscal years. Finally, the Appendix contains tables showing recent LIHEAP allocations to the states, as well as appropriations for the program since its inception. It will be updated as events warrant.
